Chat Log Below

[14:06]  Meno Rich: is everyone getting audio OK?
[14:06]  Ocru Woodget: yes
[14:10]  Tau Yao: that's useful, thx
[14:25]  Daisyblue Hefferman: the metod of delivery was great. high time we use voice for presentations.
[14:25]  Frances Wycliffe: Great presentation
[14:25]  Daisyblue Hefferman: Slides went too fast tho, not rezziing
[14:26]  Bradsietz Merryman: very nice, though slides seemed to go to fast
[14:26]  Draconius Merlin: I agree. I wish I had known about this in enough time to tell our IL librarian about it
[14:26]  Bela Courier: Excellent--enjoyed the voice. Info in the notecards is super, too.
[14:26]  Mwalimu Rotaru: I'm glad I wandered in. Thanks for providing your work.
[14:26]  Mwalimu Rotaru: I agree that the slides took quite a while to become readable.
[14:26]  Draconius Merlin: And yes, I agree that some of the notecards took a little while to rez
[14:27]  Bradsietz Merryman: I did utilize the notecards (which was nice), but once the slides did come into focus, they tended to be one slide ahead
[14:27]  Marlene Lightfoot: I thought it was great. Some of my slides took awhile to load, though -- they were fuzzy for several seconds before becoming clear.
[14:27]  Tau Yao: Thanks for the presentation. That was very interesting.
[14:27]  Daisyblue Hefferman: Do you have a standard IL curriculum you promote?
[14:27]  Bradsietz Merryman: Hmmm, 30 sec delay would explain it
[14:27]  Marlene Lightfoot: Right, I experienced a delay.
[14:28]  Bradsietz Merryman: Hey, I'm "East Coast" - stay late!
[14:28]  Daisyblue Hefferman: yes.
[14:28]  Draconius Merlin: I would have liked to seen a machinima for this presentation to demonstrate using SL to my colleagues
[14:28]  Bradsietz Merryman: Slides
[14:28]  Meno Rich: if you listen to Meno's voice, you get it live . If you listen to 'music', it's delayed
[14:28]  Bradsietz Merryman: I think it was the 30 sec delay
[14:28]  Tamas Balczo: why can't i hear anything if i have voice chat enabled?
[14:29]  Tau Yao: Who launched the survey ? UCLA Librarians ? I missed the beginnning
[14:29]  Daisyblue Hefferman: tamas, is your voice sound slider turned up?
[14:29]  Tamas Balczo: lower righthand corner? yes
[14:29]  Bradsietz Merryman: I believe I was listening to "music", not Meno, so that tracks with what you were saying about the delay - still was fine, I just used the notecards
[14:30]  Percival's Short Bench: Right click me and choose 'Sit Here' to sit down
[14:32]  Sheila Yoshikawa: A question - is the text on the notecard available anywhere - so I could link to it (or mention the coordinates) on my blog?
[14:32]  Alexandria Knight: The text willl appear when you download the slideshow from slideshare.net
[14:32]  Bradsietz Merryman: To be honest, I haven't thought about it and will have to give it more thought, but my inclination is to say "yes" for this particular situation (or since I'm guessing, based on what Esther was saying, it wasn't actually recorded this time, if it's presented again)
[14:32]  Alexandria Knight: In the Notes pages
[14:32]  Sheila Yoshikawa: thanks!
[14:35]  Meno Rich: This audio will also be posted and could be integrated with the slides
[14:35]  Tau Yao: posted where ?
[14:35]  Meno Rich: I'll post it to http://virtualbridges.net/
[14:35]  Alexandria Knight: I'll be posting the slide show on slideshare.net
[14:35]  Meno Rich: audio that is
[14:36]  Alexandria Knight: I'll tag it with LILi, LOEX, Second Life, infomation literacy
[14:36]  Alexandria Knight: Oh, great
[14:36]  Daisyblue Hefferman: Public Lib: I've taught IL as compuer, Internet, search, evaluation of resources, etc. since 1993.
[14:36]  Daisyblue Hefferman: TY. it was important
[14:36]  Percival's Short Bench: Right click me and choose 'Sit Here' to sit down
[14:36]  Daisyblue Hefferman: no, didn't
[14:36]  Alexandria Knight: What did you call it?
[14:36]  Daisyblue Hefferman: computer, internet
[14:37]  Daisyblue Hefferman: yes
[14:37]  Daisyblue Hefferman: NY
[14:38]  Tau Yao: That is from an informal group of librarians, can't you seek for the support of the State of California ?
[14:38]  Bradsietz Merryman: Yes, that's a possiblity
[14:39]  Bradsietz Merryman: Not sure if I'm still on 30 sec delay, so sorry for any delay in resposne
[14:40]  Bradsietz Merryman: We have done surveys, but I believe the focus was on academic libraries - I can't recall of one in the last 5 years
[14:40]  Daisyblue Hefferman: some of uor own efforts were sponsored by LSTA, too. I wrote the curriculum for others to use. 1996, I believe.
[14:40]  Marlene Lightfoot: Did I hear correctly that one of the UC schools teaches IL for K-12 students as well as their own students? How does that work?
[14:41]  Daisyblue Hefferman: for adults
[14:41]  Daisyblue Hefferman: and parents
[14:43]  Percival's Short Bench: Right click me and choose 'Sit Here' to sit down
[14:43]  Ocru Woodget: Some of this information is located at http://course.lib.uci.edu/ed/spirit/
[14:44]  Daisyblue Hefferman: This was wonderful.
[14:44]  Tau Yao: So what is the next step ? And when ?
[14:44]  Bela Courier: It was very successful.
[14:44]  Tau Yao: the next surveys. Do you know where you'll do them ?
[14:44]  Bela Courier: Yes, this was great and I'll be telling a group of librarians about this at the Future of Libraries conference next week in San Francisco
[14:46]  Bela Courier: I took pictures!
[14:46]  Troy McLuhan is Offline
[14:47]  Ann Munro: I'm taking pictures too.
[14:47]  Sheila Yoshikawa: I was going to suggest that it would be nice to have a parallelstream for LOEX
[14:47]  Bradsietz Merryman: What is a "parallelstream"?
[14:48]  Draconius Merlin: ... and we totally can't hear your background construction noise. :)
[14:48]  Sheila Yoshikawa: a typo - parallel stream - a virtual and a RL track
[14:49]  Tau Yao: Thanks you so much for both of you.
[14:49]  Bradsietz Merryman: Hmm...contact me at loex@emich.edu - not sure if we can do it for next year b/c planning is already well-under way, but who knows?
[14:50]  Ann Munro: How do I send an IM?
[14:50]  Daisyblue Hefferman: TY, Meno
[14:50]  Meno Rich: http://webcastacademy.net/
[14:51]  Ocru Woodget: thanks!
[14:51]  Daisyblue Hefferman: TY!
[14:51]  Meno Rich: bravo!
[14:51]  Daisyblue Hefferman: clap clap clap
[14:51]  Daisyblue Hefferman: clap clap clap
[14:54]  Bradsietz Merryman: Am I blocking anybody?
[14:54]  Tau Yao: How many people were there ?
[14:54]  Bradsietz Merryman: Great
[14:55]  Alexandria Knight: Appreciate your quetions, Tau!
[14:55]  Bradsietz Merryman: Meno, how do I listen to you, not "music"
[14:55]  Bookman Fitzgerald: Nicely done - have a good night!
[14:57]  Bradsietz Merryman: Took the picture
[14:59]  Tau Yao: I took others but i can't upload them. How can i send them to you ?
